Today you can create a website in three ways: in an online site builder, on WordPress yourself, or with an agency. Each route suits different people. Below we compare them and show the steps that apply to all three.
Three routes to a website
| Site builder | DIY WordPress | Web agency | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | personal site, testing an idea | tech-savvy people with time | businesses that want enquiries from the site |
| Money | monthly subscription | hosting and domain (hundreds of CZK a year), paid themes and plugins | one-off, with us from 14,900 CZK |
| Your time | dozens of hours | dozens to hundreds of hours | a consultation and design approval |
| Design | builder template | bought or free theme | matching your brand |
| SEO and speed | limited options | depends on your skills | basics included |
| Who owns the site | runs on the provider’s platform | you | you: domain, hosting, accounts |
1. Site builder (Webnode, Wix and similar)
The fastest start: pick a template, replace the text, pay the subscription. Good for a personal site or testing an idea. Downsides: the design looks like hundreds of other sites, you only partly control SEO and speed, and the site lives on the provider’s platform — if you leave, you rebuild.
2. DIY WordPress
WordPress is free and powers a large share of the web. You need a domain and hosting — basic hosting costs hundreds of CZK a year; for example WEDOS NoLimit costs 39 CZK a month excl. VAT in the first year and 121 CZK incl. VAT on renewal. Then a theme, plugins and above all time: learning installation, security, backups, updates and SEO basics. Right for people who want to do it and enjoy it.
3. Web agency
The agency takes care of structure, design, copy, technical SEO and launch. You spend more money but less time, and the result is built to win customers. With us, a landing page costs from 14,900 CZK (Landing Start), a one-page website from 20,000 CZK and a corporate website from 25,000 CZK. Domain, hosting and accounts are registered in your name.
Step by step

- Goal and customer. Write down in one sentence what the site should bring (enquiries, orders, calls) and who the customer is. Look at 3–5 competitors on Google.
- Structure and content. List the pages: home, each service separately, prices, references, about, contact. Prepare texts and photos — content is the most common reason a launch slips.
- Domain and hosting. Register them in your or your company’s name, not the supplier’s.
- Design. Matching your brand, with a mobile version — most visits now come from phones.
- Build. Content, forms, loading speed, page titles and descriptions for search engines.
- Launch and tracking. Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Seznam Webmaster, Google Business Profile and Firmy.cz.
What people often forget
- Mandatory details. A business in Czechia must show its name, registered address and IČO on its website (§ 435 of the Civil Code).
- Cookie consent. Analytics and advertising cookies may only run after the visitor consents.
- Redirects from old URLs. If you replace an old site, without 301 redirects you lose rankings. Details in Redesign without losing rankings.
- Who will maintain the site. Updates, backups and security are ongoing. Our support costs from 2,500 CZK a month, with the first 3 months after launch included.

Which route to choose
A site builder if you need a site now and cheaply and don’t count on it for business. DIY WordPress if you have the time and want to learn. An agency if the site should bring enquiries and you don’t want to handle it yourself. Not sure? Send us a short description of your business and within 24 hours you get an offer with price and deadline.
