On Shoptet you don’t design a store from scratch — you pick a template and customise it. For most stores that’s an advantage: a quick start and a proven layout. But for brands that want to stand out, a ready-made template soon hits its limits. Shoptet is the most popular e-commerce platform in Czechia, so here is what it offers.

Which templates Shoptet offers

According to Shoptet’s help centre, the currently supported templates are Samba, Disco, Step, Classic, Waltz, Tango and Techno. The older Echo, Soul, Rock and Pop templates are no longer supported — if your store runs on one of them, plan a switch.

Shoptet’s responsive templates are included in the plan price. There are also add-on templates and enhancements from partners (for example, built on the Classic template), installed through Shoptet add-ons; their price is set by the author.

What you can change in a ready-made template

  • colours, background and logo,
  • page layout, left or right column (depending on the template),
  • banners in selected positions and a homepage carousel (not every template supports every position),
  • the aspect ratio of product photos,
  • custom HTML and CSS code for small tweaks.

You can switch templates at any time; products, customers and orders stay, only the look changes. You can try a new template in preview first.

When a ready-made template isn’t enough

  • Your store looks like dozens of competitors on the same template and customers don’t remember you.
  • You need a different category or product layout than the template allows (comparisons, a configurator, rich product pages).
  • Your brand relies on strong visuals — fashion, cosmetics, design, premium goods.
  • CSS tweaks keep piling up and every template update breaks something.

Custom template: what it includes and what it costs

A custom template means your own design based on your brand, built into a Shoptet template: homepage, categories, product detail, cart and mobile version. With us it costs from 65,000 CZK; launching a store on a ready-made template adapted to your brand costs from 35,000 CZK. The exact price depends on the scope — the number of page types and non-standard elements. We are not VAT-registered, so prices are final.
